Call arrives
An inbound or outbound call arrives at the FreeSWITCH media server.
Destination analysis
The routing engine identifies the destination country, number type, and applies any customer-specific rules.
Rate table lookup
All available carrier rates for the destination are fetched and ranked by cost, subject to quality minimums.
Route selection
The cheapest qualifying carrier is selected. If it fails, the next carrier in the chain is tried automatically.
